"Great Blog, to funny, and OMG The drive thru story had me RFLMAO. Loved it. The links all seemed to open quickly and easily and it reads and navigates well. Great color not overbearing. The site is very well put together and just plain great. Thank you Leila"

Let’s Get This Party Started! (The Ultimate Blogger Party, That Is!)

[Fashion Paramedic opens door, music is playing, the boys are wearing their party hats and dancing . . .]

Welcome and come on in! I am stoked that you could make it to the party!

If you haven’t heard of the Ultimate Blogger Party (UBP), it’s a fantastically awesome networking event hosted by Susan and Janice (and their Mom and helpers) over at Five Minutes for Mom. There are plenty of bloggers to meet, ideas to share, and lots of prizes to be given away. And . . . the party goes on for days!! It started today (March 7th) and will end on March 14th.

I’ve been prepping for the party all week . . . planning out what I’d write, getting my place cleaned up, and decorating . . . and now it’s finally here!!

(Here’s Jake helping me decorate)

To get things started, I adopted a “Party and PJs” theme for the kickoff event. We donned our best jammies, Daddy made breakfast for dinner, we had some cake, and we’ve been partying like rock stars ever since!

(Here’s Ben watching Daddy cook . . . then Ben and Daddy posing for Mommy)

(And all of my boys . . . aren’t they handsome?!)

(And here is the yummy cake . . . BEFORE we hacked into it!)

As for me . . . I’m going hang out at the UBP for the entire duration of the event. Here’s what I’ve got on tap:

Today: Kick-off party! Share pics of the boys and party like it’s 1999.

Saturday: I’m going to find something I don’t want to do and have this person do it.

Sunday: I’ve gone and decided to start a “Sunday Dinner” tradition in my house. I’ve invited my entire family over for Arroz Con Pollo. If they like it, I’m going to be stuck with them coming over every flipping Sunday for the rest of my life. (Seriously . . . I’ll be sharing stories and photos of those that I love the most. You should really try to make it.)

Monday: I’m on a Mexican food kick . . . Come back for some CHICKEN ENCHILADAS! (If you don’t like Mexican food, hop over to Recipezaar. I have tried at least 20 recipes from their site, and have not had a bad meal yet.)

Tuesday: I’m going to participate in my very first “Tackle it Tuesday.” I’ve got one word for you: shoes.

Wednesday: It’s a toss-up. Do my very first “Wordless Wednesday,” or rant on “‘What Into The Hell Wednesday.'” Tune in to find out what I do.

Thursday: YOU blog the blog. I got the idea from another blogger, and thought I’d try it out myself.

Friday: It wouldn’t be Friday without a Frankenstory, would it?! I’ll also bid the UBP adeiu, help with the dishes and cleanup, and go home to nurse my hangover.

All-rightee! Now that you know what the party’s all about, I’ll share a little bit about me . . .

I’m a native Northern Californian, I’ve been with the love of my life [LOML] for nearly 14 years (married for almost 8), and we have two boys. (Jake, age 4 1/2; Ben, 7 months) I often refer to the LOML as my “third” boy.

If you stroll through my archives, you might notice that I started blogging about a year ago, but didn’t get serious about it until last October. Now I’m totally addicted (and serious enough about it) to the point that I’ll be going to the Blogworld Blogger Convention this September.

Last December, I made a pact with myself to become a Frugal Mom. I’ve fallen off the wagon a bit, but not to the extent where we are spending $800 a month eating out. We have made some cuts to monthly spending, and things are a bit better than they were.

I used to be a Cookie Lee Jewelry Consultant. And lately, my blog has become somewhat of a “go-to” point for those who are thinking about, have been in, or are wanting to get out of direct sales. (Cookie Lee, primarily.) I receive e-mails daily from women who have questions that they think are not being answered truthfully by someone who wants to recruit them. I answer them to the best of my ability, and share some of the stories here. I once shared my experience with Mary Kay here too.

You might also notice that I share lots of stories about my older son, Jake. He’s got a wonderful imagination, and sometimes it gets me into trouble!

Oh yeah! If you’re in the mood for something funny, you might checkout my “catfight” story, or my “cell phone pooping” story. If you spend as much time in the drive-thru as I do, you may also want to read my McDonald’s McSauce Policy post, the reactions to that post, and my recent experience behind what I now call a “LOUD.”

I’m happy that you made it over to my place, visited my family, and stayed long enough to read this whopper of a post! But . . . enough about me. Go have some fun at the party, come back and see what I’ve been up to while partying, and mingle with some of the other bloggers at the UBP!
